Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin 22 year old Lars Knudsen is a coming up hip-hop artist. He is a senior at Yale University with musical talent that is hard to come by.
Growing up music was always been a big part of his life. His mother always pushed for him and his three other siblings to pursue some sort of musical outlet when they were young. With that said he has played everything from the string cello, to piano, to drums and percussion.
As far as music production is concerned, he started actually producing his own music and writing lyrics when he was a senior in high school. He took a digital music class and fell in love with the stuff he was producing. Once he got to college, where he played two years of football before pursing his music abilities, he found a music studio on campus and got 24/7 access to it. Whenever he wasn’t cramming for tests, playing football, or partying, he was in the studio making music. Once he started having success with it, he started hearing from independent labels and producers around the country that needed writers for instrumental tracks they had. For a couple of years he was strictly acting as a songwriter, putting lyrics and concepts into a few different genres. As of recent, he decided to go a different route, and focus more on making music for himself and the people who liked him as an artist and not simply a song writer.
Now, whenever he is in the studio, he focus on portraying his own life through music. He has been called vulgar, misogynistic, and just plain crazy for talking about the things he does, but the reality shows he is just trying to best represent himself in my music. “I think it’s important to be real with your audience and that’s why you’ll never hear me rap about shit that I don’t do or don’t have…instead you’ll hear me talk about drinking, smoking, partying, and sex.” Truth is, it’s what he loves to do, and all his fans are those that like to do the same social endeavors.
“My favorite track to date is probably “Untitled”.” Every time he make something new he likes it even better than anything previous, which is a good sign, because it means he is constantly getting better. “The cool thing about doing this shit is when people start coming up to you and addressing you as that dude that made that one song, or how they’ve had my new shit on repeat for the last week. I can’t wait to see what happens once I graduate this May and can really focus all my attention on making music and living life.”
