Avicii put out a promo mix a couple weeks ago which featured a bunch of his new tracks that will be featured on his new album coming out soon, we posted a few of the tracks a week ago but now we have all 11 songs that will be on his new album. These songs are filthy, I love the new sound Avicii has created for himself. It’s been said that Avicii is a “one hit wonder” and has the same sound in every one of his songs that sounds like his hit track, Levels. I am here to tell you that all these accusations are totally false and he kills it with all these new songs. I hope you enjoy these 11 new songs.
One of the best parts of going to boarding school is he variety of music and artists that get tossed around. Today I got a message from one of my brothers friends, Con Kelley Harmon, a freshmen at Hotchkiss, with this absolute gem. A product of Norwegian teenager Richello, this up and comer crushes the original song Uncover by Zara Larsson. In edition to being a babe, Zara Larsson drops some sweet vocals, and Richello mixes them to perfection with his upbeat and progressive builds. The remix rides the chorus right into a feel good drop that will get anyone hopping. This song has dance written all over it. Enjoy this soon to be summer jam.
It’s official, summer is upon us. Kap Slap releases this all new, hour long mix for your summer and it is straight filthy. If you are partying at the beach, partying in a house, partying on a plane, or even partying in the water you are going to want this hour long mix on your iPhone. I will have this on repeat in the car all summer long for sure. Enjoy this and remember Kap Slap is really making moves with yet another killer hour long mix. Kap Slap explains his new mix below:
“The first of a bi-monthly mix series tailored specifically for your car, gym and parties. Turn It Up. Sing Along. Party On.”
My favorite DJ and Producer is back again with another banging progressive house track. Hardwell debuted this song at his first weekend Ultra main stage set where he actually introduced Dyro on stage to the crowd. It was a sick experience. And after being on a Canadian tour with Dannic and Dyro, it’s only fit to release a track with him. This track is amazing simply put. The vocals that Bright Lights add to it make it such an incredible song. And with such an up and coming producer like Dyro, the two make a perfect match for this track. Love Hardwell and this amazing track by the two dutchmen. Check it out!
This defines a banger. W&W is one of the fastest growing EDM groups right now. With legends such as Armin van Buuren backing them up and supporting their music, W&W is on the rise. This new tune “Thunder”, goes so hard. The build up has a nice catchy melody and the drop is jaw dropping. It hits you hard and I can’t even imagine listening to it at a live show. I can’t wait to hear more from the duo. Sick song and you better download.
My good friend wrote a review for the Haunted House EP for our school’s website so I thought I’d share it! Enjoy!
Knife Party finally dropped their new 4 track EP entitled Haunted House this morning. They’ve been teasing us since Ultra and with some small clips released shortly after. Well now that it’s finally here the hype was well deserved, this EP definitely shows Knife Party going down a new and exciting road unique to themselves. Knife Party doesn’t disappoint with this genre changing EP, be sure to give it a listen and if you love it show them some support by buying it on Itunes.
The EP kicks off with “Power Glove”. The intro in Power Glove is intense; a powerful choir sample combined with a commanding drum pattern had me hitting repeat a few times before I finished the song. The main melody might be the catchiest Knife Party has made thus far. The only downside to Power Glove is the lack of variation in drops but the midsections help keep things interesting.
“LRAD” is hands down my favorite Knife Party song. The slow building intro adds intensity while the main melody slowly creeps in. When the buildup came to a halt I was expecting a typical Knife Party drop. Instead we get this heart pounding minimal drop that is infectious. The second drop adds some tribal vocal samples, which adds a completely different atmosphere to it then the first. This song has so much dynamic to it, one their best tracks yet.
“EDM Death Machine” has one of the most grin inducing intros ever. Poking fun at Skrillex, Baauer, Borgore, and themselves, then it transitions into a robot coming to live. Soon we are hit by a flurry of spastic lazers and crunchy bass. EDM Death Machine will no doubt be played throughout the festival circuit.
This is a solid EP, not their best, but a solid effort. LRAD is the standout track here! For those wondering why there is a lack of variation in genres: The EP is titled Haunted HOUSE, get it? It’s all Electro House bangers, minus the change in Internet Friends. But in the end this EP was enjoyable, can’t wait to see what’s next.
Calling all Robert Hardwell fans. This new one is a banger. He took the already unreal Krewella tune and “Hardwellized” it up and gave it that special Hardwell sound and drop. As one of my favorite DJ’s and Producers, he did not disappoint with this one. This drop is dirty in this one. He dropped this in his Ultra set when I was there and recently dropped it at Coachella where the crowd went absolutely insane in both sets. Sick tune by the Dutchman. Check it out!
